Seminar Descriptions

15 January (Tue)

Seminar 1 – What I've Learned From Doing 1000 Events A Year (Steve Bliesner)

Running your own business is fun, rewarding and (hopefully!) profitable. But sometimes it sucks major balls. Its not all rainbows and lollipops. Clients are annoying, the hours can be horrendous, computers fail and you have do to grown up stuff like book keeping and taxes (boo!).

This is a practical look at how we run The Photo Booth Guys. Ill show you the things we do well, and maybe more importantly, the things we suck at. Ill show you the tips and tricks we use to make life easier and Ill talk about where I think this industry is moving.

Seminar 2 – Finding Your Place In A Crowded Market (Danny Van Der Nguyen)

So you’ve discovered a high profit business structure with extremely low barriers to entry, what do you do next? How do you remain competitive in an environment where everyone is competing on price and how do you continue working passionately in such a random environment? (I’m guessing none of you grew up dreaming of being photo-booth owners…). I’m going to walk you through my photo-booth journey and tell you how I leveraged my strengths and interests to grow my business to become a local market leader in a few short (and extremely enjoyable) years.

Seminar 3 – Ten Tips For Surviving Self-Employment (Bob Lindquist)

While many covet the lifestyle of the Self-Employed, very few really have what it takes to make it last long-term. On the surface, the idea of “working for yourself” sounds great – but it’s not long after launching a new business that one learns that it’s more about working for others – whether they be customers or employees. In his presentation, Robert Lindquist will talk about a few of his own learning experiences, and share some tips that every entrepreneur can use in their quest to make it on their own.

Seminar 4 – How to Harness Online Content To Propel Your Business Online (Peter Dancewicz)

TBA

Demo Talk 1 - The Wilkes Booth Co

The Wilkes Booth Co Team will be on hand to demo their latest and greatest

Seminar 5 – How to Grow and Scale Your Business So You Make More But Work Less (Kevin Nguyen)

From years of experience, Kevin is excited to show you how to improve 5 key areas in your business to quickly grow and expand your business. Topics which will be discussed are staffing, equipment, marketing, market knowledge and personal networks. Grow from a single booth operator to an empire.

Seminar 6 - Sales. Simplified. (Brandon Wong)

Whether you like it or not, you’re in sales. More importantly, your business depends on your mastery of that skill to survive. In my talk, I will go over how to ethically win your customers over by giving you practical and easy to implement tips to increase revenue and better your customer’s experience.

Demo Talk 2 - Photobooth Supply Co

The team from Photobooth Supply Co will demo their latest and greatest

Seminar 7 - Sponsorship 101: What is ‘Exposure’ really worth? (Colin Richardson)

Do you find yourself stumped with how to respond when a client offers you ‘exposure’ as payment? Understanding some basic sponsorship principals will help you turn this conversation in a direction to deliver on your business objectives.

Colin will share his approach to Sponsorship Strategy and some tangible examples at both community and corporate level that have delivered success for his Perth based business, Adept Photo Booths.

Seminar 8 - Q and A Panel (Chris Wong and Co)

A chance for attendees to ask our guest panel any burning questions about anything!

16 January (Wed)

Master Class 1 – How to Attract and Win Corporate Business (Dennie Hirsch)

Dennie Hirsch is the CEO of Mojo Photo Events & Activations. With 9 years of experience in the photo booth business, Dennie will show you how to make the move from social events into the corporate brand world of activations. Dennie’s company operates over 500 events a year out of Edmonton and Calgary across Canada. After doing thousands of social events and attending all of the industry conferences. Dennie realized what he had to do in order to attract the high end demanding corporate client. Social events are the bread and butter of the industry. Corporate activations are the cream on top. Dennie is coming to Stralia for the first time to teach you what works and what doesn’t!

Master Class 2 – Intro To Breeze Software (Steve Bliesner)

Breeze is revered as one of the best photo booth software around. As a long running user of Breeze in both his hire biz (The Photobooth Guys) and in his manufacturing business (Wilkes Booth Co) Steve B takes a look under the hood and will show you how to breeze works and what it is capable of to make your photo booth business even better.

Master Class 3 – How to Build High Performance Teams (Annabelle Davidson)

How to attract, retain and reward amazing admin and event staff so that you spend less time managing people, and more time on the things you love. Learn how to delegate effectively, let go of some of the control and empower your people to represent your business confidently. Learn strategies that enable you to spend less time putting out fires or cleaning up messes and turn your team into a well-oiled machine that gets sh*t done!

Master Class 4 – WorkFlow Automation To Create Freedom (Ryan Salinas)

Have you ever put SO MUCH time and energy into running your photo booth business you’re absolutely exhausted and don’t have
time for marketing or even time for yourself? There’s a lot more to running photo booths than just making sure your attendants show up on time, and in this interactive workshop you’ll learn how to set up systems so that once your client sends you their information, your systems take over and you don’t have to do tasks twice.

Master Class 5 – Photoshop For Beginners (Maria Abacan)
This workshop is designed for those that have started their photobooth business and have always wanted to learn how to use Photoshop to create their booth templates.
If learning Adobe Photoshop has been part of your ‘to-do-list’, then this workshop is designed for you.  Aimed at beginners, you’ll learn the fundamental functions, layout and tools of  Adobe Photoshop to be able to confidently create your own photo booth templates.
For demonstration purposes, Maria will be using Adobe Photoshop CC using a Windows PC.
